Update on Portneuf Health and Regence Blue Shield of Idaho Contract Negotiations

June 11, 2026

The Office of Human Resources would like to provide an update regarding ongoing contract negotiations between Ardent Health, on behalf of Portneuf Health, and Regence Blue Shield of Idaho. While 麻豆原创 is not a party to these negotiations and does not have authority over the outcome, we recognize that the situation may have a significant impact on our employees and their families. We care deeply about the well-being of our employees and are committed to keeping our campus community informed as information becomes available.

As we have shared in prior updates, Regence and Ardent Health have been undergoing contract negotiations which impact the in-network status of Portneuf Medical Center. Ardent Health has notified Regence Blue Shield of Idaho that the current Portneuf provider contract may terminate effective June 15, 2026, if a new agreement is not reached. While both parties continue to negotiate, a resolution has not yet been finalized.

If Portneuf Medical Center providers and facilities are removed from the Regence Blue Shield of Idaho network on June 15, 2026, members may need to seek care from alternative in-network providers and facilities. Members can locate in-network providers by signing in to Regence Blue Shield of Idaho online () or through the Regence mobile app and using the Find Care tool.

If You Are Currently Receiving Care from Portneuf Medical Center Providers
Members who are receiving ongoing care from Portneuf Medical Center providers and facilities may be eligible to continue receiving care at in-network benefit levels for a limited period through transitional care provisions.

To determine eligibility and elect transitional care coverage, please contact Regence Blue Shield of Idaho using the phone number on the back of your member ID card (1-800-854-5585). Eligible situations may include:

  • Receiving treatment for a serious or complex medical condition, including certain chronic conditions
  • Undergoing a course of institutional or inpatient care
  • Being scheduled for nonelective surgery
  • Receiving pregnancy-related care
  • Being determined to be terminally ill

Emergency Care
In the event of an emergency, members should continue to seek care at the nearest hospital. Emergency medical care will be covered at in-network benefit levels under the federal No Surprises Act. However, out-of-pocket costs may vary depending on your specific health plan.
